| Preparation: | All new altar servers receive an information booklet, and attend 2 to 3 practice sessions with the priest moderator. |
| Duties: | Assist priest in the celebration of Mass (weekly, funeral, wedding) and other prayer services/ceremonies as assigned. Students usually serve two Saturday or Sunday Masses per month; funeral and wedding Masses are based on a need. Students who continue as altar servers beyond elementary school will assume a more prominent role in more complex liturgical celebrations such as the Easter Vigil. |
